See What Makes Paul Cristina One of the Most Talented Regional Artists in Charleston
An extension and reincarnation of Charleston’s ten-season Jail Break event, Charleston Arts Festival will similarly challenge both artists and attendees to reconsider preconceived ideas of art, creativity and community. Founder and Creative Director Andrew Walker retired the Jail Break series in 2015 but promised its spirit would be rebirthed in a newer, expanded format—what’s become Charleston Arts Festival.
For a second year, Charleston Arts Festival is proud to collaborate with Beresford Studios and to be presenting exciting new work by Paul Cristina, one of our regions' most talented and visionary contemporary artists. As a self-taught artist, Cristina has continued to develop his creative sensibilities through the study of books, film, music, people, and photographic imagery, continually informing his work through experimentation of various styles and media.
Within the last year, Cristina's work has been the focus of one-person shows at the Booth Gallery in New York City, at Beresford Studios in Charleston, and at TRAX Visual Arts Center in Lake City, South Carolina. Charleston Arts Festival seeks to bridge the gap between artist intention and audience expectation by leveraging creative collaboration across artistic disciplines. Eye-opening, accessible and intentional art will set the scene for a dose of perspective in every genre!
At Parks at Nexton Apartments in Summerville, South Carolina, we pride ourselves on informing our residents about all the upcoming events our beautiful community has to offer. Don’t hesitate to join this event on Sunday!
