See Jazz Musicians from South Carolina and Beyond at the Annual Lowcountry Jazz Festival
Love jazz? Mark your calendar now for the Lowcountry Jazz Festival! The Lowcountry Jazz Festival, South Carolina’s premiere annual Smooth Jazz event, returns to the Charleston Gaillard Center with a stellar lineup of superstar artists and up-and-coming instrumentalists and vocalists. The festival continues its Labor Day weekend tradition, kicking off Friday, August 30th with the All White Party Affair.
Dress in your best white attire and celebrate the opening of the 11th Annual Lowcountry Jazz Festival during the All White Party Affair. The Charleston Gaillard Center Culinary Team will be serving an array of sweet and savory bites, curated to pair perfectly with award-winning wines. If wine isn’t your thing, there will be plenty of other beverages available. This will be an evening of endless entertainment, with a performance by GRAMMY Nominated R&B sensation Anthony David and DJ D-Nyce to keep everyone on the 1’s and 2’s.
The 11th Anniversary Lowcountry Jazz Festival includes chart-topping genre icons, GRAMMY Award winners and nominees. This year’s festival will celebrate the life of Tonisha Bell Alston, who dedicated her life to Closing the Gap in Health Care, Inc.
The festival is the primary fundraiser for Closing the Gap in Health Care, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose primary mission is decreasing health disparities and increasing health literacy, especially for African Americans and the underserved in our community, South Carolina, and the nation. The organization airs health tips on the radio and television, publishes a weekly e-newsletter, and provides information on social media to improve health literacy.
Proceeds from the Lowcountry Jazz Festival support the mission of Closing the Gap in Health Care, Inc. and the Thaddeus John Bell, M.D. Endowment Fund.
